My greatest influence is my Jack Russell Terrier, Brandy. Brandy is one of my main subjects, and
has the personality and expressions that make her an absolute joy to draw and photograph. Brandy is registered with JRTCC,
AAC, CARO, CDDA and CPE and currently competes in agility in the JRTCC, AAC and CPE, as well as dabbles in Rally-O in CARO
venues.
This page is dedicated to my little Jack Russell Terrier, Brandy.
I am constantly wowed by this little dogs intelligence and tenacity. Brandy is, as are many individuals of this breed, exceptionally
smart, willful, bold, determined, independent and, well, terrierish. Jack Russell Terriers are fantastic sport and performance
dogs, excelling at events such as agility, flyball, tracking, go-to-ground, hunting, lure coursing, racing, obedience, rally-o
and more!
This breed is not for the faint of heart, and does not do well when left to their own devices without training or enough exercise.
They thrive on "thinking" activities, and house tonnes of energy in their little bodies. They are the ultimate BIG dog in
a small package.
Brandy has an absolutely fantastic personality for performance, friendly, bold, outgoing, with high play, prey and food drives.
The above makes her exceptionally easy to train and an overall great little working dog.
So far Brandy has excelled in her agility career with titles in both AAC and CPE, and high placements at the JRTCC trials.
She achieved her first two AAC titles in her first two trials.
With some refresher obedience courses and the help of Anne at Campaign Dog Academy, Brandy and I have achieved our first
CARO RALLY-O title - Novice Rally MCL - three rounds, each with 197 points, something I never dreamed we'd be involved in.
We are looking forward to competing for our advanced title.
Brandy is an amazing little dog. She has taught me a lot in regards to training and behaviour, as well, she has taught me
what a great companion and friend a dog can be. I take advantage of every moment I can spend with her, and love the times
that we are able to compete together. There will never be another Brandy - she's one in a million, my heart dog, as some would
say and I'm so glad I'm able to share my life with her.
